Applying of an Ontology-driven Case-based Reasoning System in Logistics

چکیده
The management of logistics projects is a well known part of management science. But until now, purely quantitative and “hard” project management techniques like the critical path method and the project evaluation and review technique have been dominant. With this main stream approach, only simply structured logistics projects can normally be managed. The few attempts to use case-based reasoning (CBR) for project management failed up until now because of the difficulties when identifying those projects which contain useful, especially qualitative knowledge for the current logistics project. In this paper we present an ontology-driven casebased reasoning system (SCM Project Recommender), that can measure similarity between knowledge collections, which are written in natural language. The application is implemented using the open source CBR development framework jCOLIBRI.

Application of New Techniques of Artificial Intelligence in Logistics: an Ontology-driven Case-based Reasoning Approach
In most cases, the project management is dealing with the “intelligent” reuse of know-how from previous projects and its adaptation to a similar, new project. Until now, purely quantitative and “hard” project management techniques like the critical path method and the project evaluation and review technique have been dominant. With this main stream approach, only simply structured logistics pro...
متن کاملComprehensive Decision Modeling of Reverse Logistics System: A Multi-criteria Decision Making Model by using Hybrid Evidential Reasoning Approach and TOPSIS (TECHNICAL NOTE)
In the last two decades, product recovery systems have received increasing attention due to several reasons such as new governmental regulations and economic advantages. One of the most important activities of these systems is to assign returned products to suitable reverse manufacturing alternatives. Uncertainty of returned products in terms of quantity, quality, and time complicates the decis...
متن کامل“Intelligent” Knowledge Reuse for Complex Logistics Projects: An Application of Ontology-Driven and Case-Based Reasoning
The application potential of ontology-driven and CBR (case-based reasoning) is demonstrated for the business knowledge management particularly with respect to the reuse of knowledge of experience concerning logistics projects. The relevance of poorly structured, qualitative and especially in natural language represented knowledge is outlined for purposes of knowledge management, particularly wi...
متن کاملExploring Ontology-driven Modeling Approach for Multi-agent Cooperation in Emergency Logistics
Current emergency logistics strongly features geographical scatter, collaborative work and time priority. Although some models have been designed for application in emergency logistics, the knowledge heterogeneity in that field is still a major obstacle to intelligent cooperation. This study aims at applying ontology-based modeling approach to clearly represent the emergency logistics knowledge...
متن کاملAgent-based Intelligent Support to Coalition Operations: a Case Study of Health Service Logistics Support
Coalition operations are very likely based on a number of different groups of people, non-governmental organizations, institutions providing humanitarian aid and also army troops and official governmental initiatives. As a result, to manage any coalition operation an efficient knowledge sharing between multiple participating parties is required. The paper proposes an approach that combines know...
